Jazz resources

A couple of weeks ago I had a fun meeting with a university student looking to enrich his work experience in the music industry in general, and in the jazz world in particular. As part of the discussion, he wondered where he should be looking for information about jazz. It's a question I've been asked before, so I spent a few minutes writing down some of my usual go-to resources for jazz as they relate to my duties as Artistic Director. They include:

Downbeat Magazine - www.downbeat.com
JazzTimes - www.jazztimes.com
NPR - www.npr.org/music/genres/jazz-blues
A blog supreme - www.npr.org/blogs/ablogsupreme
Wholenote Magazine - www.thewholenote.com
Peter Hum's jazzblog.ca - http://blogs.ottawacitizen.com/category/arts/jazzblog
JAZZ.FM91 - www.jazz.fm

And, given my recent post about marketing, I figured I'd list a couple of my usual sources for all things marketing:

Rebecca Coleman's Art of the Business - www.rebeccacoleman.ca
AdFreak - www.adweek.com/adfreak

What about you - where do you go for the learning?

Josh
